Italy, Saudi Arabia, Nairobi – there are many extraordinary places around the world to visit. And Pigeon Forge is on that list, too, according to Time magazine.

Time released its list of “The World’s Greatest Places of 2024,” which includes 100 destinations across the globe to visit. The Wayback hotel in Pigeon Forge made the cut and is the only Tennessee destination to make this year’s list.

Time’s list is divided into two sections: places to stay and places to visit. The Wayback, a retro hotel with a modern twist that opened last year, is among the 50 greatest places to stay.

Pigeon Forge is known for Dollywood, Great Smoky Mountains National Park and “a reputation for cheesy motels with heart-shaped hot tubs and kitschy souvenir shops,” at least according to Time.

But in just eight months, the Wayback has elevated the East Tennessee city to luxurious heights. Time raves:
