The You’re Cordially Invited trailer shows Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell going to war in the upcoming Prime Video comedy, which will premiere on January 30.
The film zeroes in on what happens when two wedding weddings are accidentally booked at the same venue on the same day. Each bridal party wants to celebrate the day as they intended, but they’ll have to adjust to sharing the now limited space. The father of one bride (Ferrell) and the other bride’s sister (Witherspoon) take it worst of all, clashing for the sake of their loved ones.

What happens in the You’re Cordially Invited trailer?
The trailer begins with Jim’s (Ferrell) wedding party having to rush back inside the venue after it starts raining. Inside, of course, is where Witherspoon’s character, Margo, is celebrating. Jim grabs the microphone and suggests they all just enjoy the day together. The positive sentiment doesn’t land, though, once Margo confronts Jim. He admits that he’ll stop at nothing to ensure that his daughter has the perfect day, which doesn’t sit well with Margo.
Witherspoon’s character then declares war, promising that Jim will “go down” for intentionally sabotaging her sister’s wedding. Subsequent scenes show Jim covered in cake and jumping into the water. He shoves away a child on his way to Margo, with the two rivals sharing a tense dance.
After showing some more of the chaos at the dual and dueling weddings, Jim is told by his daughter (played by Geraldine Viswanathan) that Margo may actually be nice. Jim still isn’t convinced, though. The trailer concludes with an alligator making its presence known at the weddings, much to Jim’s terror.
The cast of You’re Cordially Invited also includes Meredith Hagner, Jimmy Tatro, Stony Blyden, Leanne Morgan, Rory Scovel, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Ramona Young, Jack McBrayer, and Celia Weston. Blyden, who recently starred in Goosebumps: The Vanishing, plays the fiancé of Jim’s daughter.
You’re Cordially Invited is written and directed by Nicholas Stoller, who is known for comedies like Neighbors. It’s produced by Stoller, Conor Welch, Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Will Ferrell, and Jessica Elbaum. Executive producers are Alex Brown, Brendan O’Brien, and Ted Gidlow.
