Noma Restaurant Launches Monthly Coffee Subscription

Copenhagen, Denmark’s world-renowned restaurant noma has announced the launch of their monthly coffee subscription: Noma Kaffe. Every month, subscribers will receive two bags of coffee beans, roasted by the noma team themselves.

“Each (coffee) selection will reflect the same principles for quality that have guided noma for decades,” the restaurant team shares. Click here to learn more.

Bean Voyage Expands Farmer School for Resilient Communities

In partnership with The Starbucks Foundation, Costa Rica-based non-profit Bean Voyage is expanding their Farmer School for Resilient Communities for the fourth consecutive year. The initiative, which is dedicated to empower smallholder coffee producers, will continue to equip farmers with the skills, resources, and knowledge necessary to build resilient and sustainable businesses.

Odeko Raises $126 Million in Series E Funding to Empower Independent Food Businesses

Odeko, a technology platform for small coffee shops and other independent food businesses, has raised $126 million in Series E funding to expand its services. The company, which has over 14,000 customers, has helped coffee businesses like Go Get ‘Em Tiger, Gregorys, and Blank Street expand their presence—and they hope to continue to expand their reach.

“We’re excited to expand the Odeko ecosystem,” says Dane Atkinson, CEO and founder of Odeko. “This new funding will allow us to offer an unparalleled suite of services to help independent businesses gain access to the unified buying power and technology of larger chains and thrive.”

The Coffee Science Foundation Partners with University of California, Davis to Explore Green Coffee Defects

The Coffee Science Foundation (CSF) and University of California, Davis have launched a new research initiative aimed at determining detection thresholds for relevant physical defects in green coffee samples from Brazil and Guatemala.

“The UC Davis Coffee Center has extensive experience in both post-harvest processing and sensory detection, which are the key disciplines relevant to this research,” says CSF Executive Director Peter Giuliano. “We are excited to partner with them on this potentially transformative research.”
