Bradford local elections May 2026 – all 458 candidates standing

A total of 30 wards are up for election in the city

The 2026 local elections are fast approaching this year with candidates set to stand across the city.

In Bradford, 30 wards are up for grabs this year, with candidates all competing to be elected to the council. The election will take place on Thursday, May 7, with all 90 council seats up for election due to the recent boundary review.

Three councillors will be selected for each ward, with the candidate in first place elected for four years, the candidate in second for two years, and the candidate in third for one year. From 2027, each election will be for one councillor for each ward.
