Hong Kong International Airport has kicked off its Easter holiday celebrations with the introduction of a giant interactive cat, which follows a series of special events at the airport.
Situated in Arrivals Hall A; the installation, a Moment to Purr, is inspired by the concept of a virtual pet, and invites passengers to engage with the giant cat through a dedicated kiosk.
The cat will remain in situ until 2 May

A digital screen allows passengers to feed, interact with and enjoy the cat’s presence, with playful responses given in real-time.
Elsewhere, the airport has recently held a series of special events, including a Spring Serenade, which featured live performances by a local harmonica band and a pianist, as well as the Bunny Bounce, which saw entertainers dressed in rabbit costumes perform a themed dance for passengers within the terminal.
The giant cat will remain in Arrivals Hall A until 2 May 2026, when it will, presumably, return to its favourite giant cardboard box.
In January; a local railway station in Japan appointed a calico cat, Yontama, as its third feline stationmaster.
