Eugene Mirman, ‘Bob Burgers’ actor, recovering after dangerous crash

Eugene Mirman attends the world premiere of "The Bobs Burgers Movie" at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California, on May 17, 2022.

Eugene Mirman, the voice behind Gene Belcher on “Bob’s Burgers,” is recovering after his violent crash.

In an April 3 Instagram post, the voice actor thanked the public for sending well wishes, love and kind messages his way.

“I am extraordinarily thankful to the heroic people that pulled me from the car and to the warm, kind and talented staff at the hospital that cared for me and got me on the mend! I am thankful beyond words to be here and doing relatively alright, all things considered,” he wrote, sharing a photo of himself standing with a small cast on his wrist and hand area while holding what appears to be either a book or a decoration that reads “Life is an adventure.”

Mirman explained he’s been absent online recently because he doesn’t have his phone and quipped that he does not “recommend my method of decreasing screen-time.”

“If you’re a friend who sent a kind, loving message, you should know that it was hard to not respond with, ‘I’d love to be on your podcast.’ I love you all and please take care of yourselves, Eugene,” he continued.

Mirman, 51, was driving northbound when he crashed into the Bedford Toll Plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in the early afternoon on March 31, the New Hampshire State Police said in a news release.
