Germany vs. Ghana: Team news and predicted line-up

Julian Nagelsmann will get one last chance to look at his players prior to naming his FIFA World Cup squad as Germany host Ghana at the MHPArena in Stuttgart on Monday night.

The Bundestrainer has already confirmed that Alexander Nübel will start in goal, but reiterated that Hoffenheim’s Oliver Baumann would be his No.1 in this summer’s tournament.

Additionally, Deniz Undav – who is the leading German goalscorer across the top divisions – will feature at some point, although Nagelsmann did little to suggest that Stuttgart’s goal-getter, who has plundered 18 goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances this season, will start.

Moreover, Angelo Stiller – who wasn’t included in Nagelsmann’s initial squad – could get another chance to impress alongside Leon Goretzka in central midfield. Only Joshua Kimmich (79) and Florian Wirtz (78) completed more passes than Stiller (72), who registered a 91.7 per cent accuracy.

What’s more, Stiller’s 14 passes into the final third was more than any other Germany player. Another strong performance in the absence of Aleksandar Pavlović and Felix Nmecha will only strengthen his chances of a plane ticket to the World Cup.

Predicted Germany XI vs. Ghana

Nübel – Kimmich, Tah, Schlotterbeck, Brown – Goretzka, Stiller – Karl, Gnabry, Wirtz – Woltemade
