We are exactly 100 days away from the 2026 World Cup in North America beginning June 11 on FOX Chattanooga.
And here in town, it’s finally gotten real.
Sunday, members of the Royal Spanish Football Federation for the Spain national team delegation arrived in Chattanooga to tour parts of the city and inspect their base for the summer: Baylor School.
A team of roughly 15 Spanish officials flew in to ensure that everything is ready for the arrival of the number-one-ranked soccer team in the world this summer.
I got the chance to join them at Baylor, and it’s pretty clear how impressed they are with both the city and Baylor’s facilities.
Sources confirm that Spain was choosing between Chicago and Chattanooga for their host city, but felt the Scenic City checked every box they were looking for.
The Spanish Federation is hoping Chattanooga will adopt them and support them throughout the World Cup as they enter as the favorites.
It won’t be long before decorations are up and downtown Chattanooga will have a bit of Spanish flair.
