General Hospital fans believe that Nelle Benson, played by Chloe Lanier, might not be dead. While the character has been off-screen for a long time, many viewers, along with the actress who played the role, believe otherwise.
Here are the details on what the actress said about it.
Chloe Lanier says ‘Nelle’s too tough to be dead’ in General Hospital
General Hospital viewers have witnessed several characters return from the dead recently. Last year, both Nathan and Britt surprisingly returned. And in just the first two months of this year, Faison and Peter have also seemingly returned, though they could just be Anna’s hallucinations. Nonetheless, viewers now believe that a fan-favorite villain, Nell Benson, could also resurface after being presumed dead for years.
For context, Nelle fell off a cliff and died during a confrontation with Carly in a late August 2020 episode. Although Carly did her best to pull her up, Nelle ultimately fell to her death. While the character has been mentioned on a few occasions, she physically reappeared in Nina’s and Willow’s dreams.
Now, given the number of resurrections, many viewers speculate that Nelle could also return. Interestingly, Chloe Lanier, who plays Nelle, is also on board with the theory.
In a recent email interview with Soaps.com, Lanier shared her thoughts on speculation that her character is still alive. “Nelle’s too tough to be dead. She’s probably set up camp at the bottom of that cliff, living her best life until Cody comes and finds her,” she said.
The Kingdom actress also said she believes it would be “fun” for her character to work with Willow and bring down Michael and the rest of the Corinthos family. She then described Katelyn MacMullen, who plays Willow, as a “sweet” person, noting that they often talk about their characters working together whenever they meet.
Despite Nelle’s evil past, the 33-year-old said that she believes that her character is just a “human.” However, Lanier doesn’t wish for a redemption arc. “If Nelle ever did resurface in some fashion, I wouldn’t want her to be redeemed. Her grit is what makes her entertaining and fun to watch,” she explained.
