Heavenly Island Lifestyle Hawaii Kai (7192 Kalanianaole Hwy.) has partnered with chef Steven Yang of Yang’s Hawaii to create a Cha Chaan Teng menu featuring three comfort dishes. The congee ($10) is made of rice, hondashi, shoyu and mirin; the Hong Kong French toast ($12) represents the indulgence and optimism of many Hong Kong cafes; and the baked macaroni ($13) is inspired by Western ovens and ingredients, and features macaroni, ground beef, carrots, onions, tomatoes and a cheese blend.
