These 2026 fashion trends will be everywhere, according to a celebrity stylist

Micaela Erlanger knows which trends are groundbreaking, and which are as obvious as florals for spring.

The celebrity fashion stylist counts Meryl Streep among her clients — so when it comes to predicting the biggest trends of 2026, she’s just as in-the-know as the star’s famous fashion editor character, Miranda Priestly.

“When I’m dressing Meryl, the Miranda Priestly energy comes through in confidence and polish rather than anything literal,” Erlanger tells Page Six Style. “It’s about impeccable tailoring, strong presence and clothes that feel powerful but effortless.”

“For the [‘Devil Wears Prada 2’] press tour, expect elevated fashion — and yes, a great shoe and a pair of sunglasses never hurt. That’s all,” she teases.

The highly anticipated sequel doesn’t come out until May, but in the meantime, we tapped Erlanger — whose clients also include Lupita Nyong’o, Ego Nwodim and Kelly Clarkson — to break down which styles will be everywhere this year. Read on to explore (and shop) the looks destined to define the next 12 months.

Polished Power Dressing

“Power dressing is back — but softened. Think strong shoulders, sharp tailoring and clean lines balanced with fluid fabrics and comfort. After years of casual wear, people are craving authority and elegance again, but without stiffness. Focus on fit and proportion — nothing feels more powerful than clothes that move with you. Look for brands that do tailoring exceptionally well, like Khaite or The Row.”

“Luxury in 2026 is about discretion. The shift away from overt branding continues, replaced by craftsmanship, texture, and restraint. It’s confidence without explanation. Invest in fewer, better pieces — and let the quality speak for itself.”

The Return of the Statement Shoe

“After years of minimalist footwear, shoes are stepping back into the spotlight. In 2026, footwear becomes the personality piece again — artful, sculptural and intentional. Let the shoe do the talking. Keep the outfit clean and architectural, and anchor it with a bold heel or refined sandal. Comfort still matters — beautiful shoes should never feel punishing.”

Brewing a Better Half-Gallon Batch

Today I finally ran an experiment I’ve wanted to try for a long time. If you’re a professional barista—or you run a busy café—this may save you some time.
