Since the hit ABC sitcom Modern Family concluded in 2020, the cast has truly grown into a real family. Much to their fans’ delight, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Sofia Vergara hopped on social media to share a series of photos from their first “nearly perfect” reunion.
Although Ty Burrel (Phil Dunphy) was not present, the Modern Family stars found a way to make him feel included. Eric Stonestreet (Cameron Tucker) and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons (Lily Tucker-Pritchett) shared a lovely frame with Ferguson, while on-screen siblings Sarah Hyland (Haley Dunphy), Ariel Winter (Alex Dunphy) and Nolan Gould (Luke Dunphy) posed alongside their on-screen mother, Julie Bowen (Claire Dunphy).
“Nearly perfect [Modern Family] reunion. We were only missing you, Ty [Burrel]! So we brought a cute pic in your place,” Ferguson wrote on Instagram, concluding his post with a #cooldad hashtag.
On the other hand, Vergara — who played the role of Gloria Delgado-Pritchett — uploaded some images from their “first Modern Family reunion.” Of course, the actress also shared a snap with her on-screen husband Ed O’Neill, also known as the Modern Family’s patriarch Jay Pritchett, and her on-screen son Manny Delgado (played by Rico Rodriguez).
Although the stars have been sharing photos of them hanging out together from time to time, this marks the first time almost all of the cast members — with the exception of Burrel — are present. And since Burrel was missing, all present cast members gathered together to express how much they missed the actor, with Burrel’s photo in their hands.
The Modern Family cast has been keeping in touch since the ABC show ended 3 years ago
The cast of the hit ABC show, which ran from 2009 to 2020 for 11 seasons, remained just as close off-screen. Just recently, Ferguson shared a photo with his “pretend daughter” Anderson-Emmons during the latter’s “high school production.” The stars also reunited during Hyland’s wedding with Wells Adams back in 2022; Ferguson even officiated the intimate event.
The mockumentary-style sitcom centers on the lives of three diverse families (from nuclear and blended to same-sex) connected together through family patriarch Jay Pritchett and his two children, Claire and Mitchell.
Besides the main cast members, Modern Family also stars Jeremy Maguire as Joe Pritchett, Reid Ewing as Dylan, Shelley Long as DeDe, and Fred Willard as Frank, among others. You can check out some of the reunion photos below:
