鮑威爾重申 將重點防範關稅驅動物價上漲 演變為更持久通脹 (11:59) – 20250417 – 即時財經新聞

鮑威爾表示,「我們的職責是維持長期通脹預期穩固錨定,並確保一次性的價格上升不會演變為持續性的通脹問題」,他還指出,決策層將在自己促進充分就業和維持價格穩定這兩個目標之間保持平衡,「同時牢記:沒有價格穩定,我們就無法創造令全體美國人受益的長期強勁的勞動力市場條件」。

鮑威爾表示,「就目前而言,我們有良好的條件來等待形勢進一步明朗,然後再考慮是否調整政策立場」。

在演講後的問答環節中,鮑威爾表示他預計在「今年剩餘時間裡」,失業和通脹都可能會偏離聯儲局的目標方向。

他承認,經濟疲軟和通脹上升最終可能使央行的兩個目標產生衝突,「我們可能會發現自己處於一個具有挑戰性的情境,也就是我們的雙重使命目標構成了衝突」,「如果發生這種情况,我們會考慮經濟狀況與各個目標之間的距離,以及這些差距預計彌合所需的潛在不同時間維度」。

鮑威爾還就近期金融市場的動盪發表評論,強調市場的運行「基本符合預期」,「市場正艱難應對大量不確定性,這自然意味著波動」,「但話雖如此,市場依然在運作」,他補充稱「市場正在履行其應有的職能,運行是有序的」。

鮑威爾重申,特朗普迄今為止宣布的關稅上調水平大幅高於預期,關稅極有可能至少會導致通脹暫時上升,但通脹效應也許更加持久。「能否避免這種結果將取決於影響的大小、完全傳導至價格所需的時間以及最終能否維持住較長期通脹預期的穩固錨定」。

鮑威爾表示,聯儲局目前不算特別接近停止縮表,並補充稱準備金仍然充裕。他指出,縮表步伐放緩意味著聯儲局能夠在更長時間內繼續縮減其資產組合。
