這才令人遺憾 – 香港經濟日報 – 報章 – 副刊

每位香港運動員,在今屆奧運都付出了很大的努力和汗水,去為香港拼盡,無論贏到獎項與否,都值得港人掌聲。而且,有些運動員是在資源極度有限情況下,堅持捱下去,才去到今時今日參賽奧運的機會,他們刻苦的運動員生涯,不是我們外間人可以體會。身為港人,可以做的,是給予正面肯定和支持,無論是甚麼成績。若開口說不出好話,閉嘴便可。再直白一些,用廣東話說:若把口吐不出象牙,收聲為宜。

日前,港隊游泳代表何詩蓓,在今屆女子一百米自由泳及女子二百米自由泳奪得兩枚銅牌,成績亮麗,要知道今年澳洲對手非常強勁,能在這麼激烈嚴峻的國際競賽底下,這個小島可以出了一名躋入三甲名列的女泳手,本是值得港人驕傲的事情。但日前中國香港游泳總會會長王敏超,在電台大氣波上這樣說「第三可以講開心,亦都當然有遺憾」。

王氏身為泳總會長,應知道公開講一句「遺憾」,是對很多人有影響的,包括在泳賽中拼盡全力的泳手。一句「遺憾」,表達了甚麼呢?何詩蓓為香港贏了兩面銅牌,本是一件值得全城高興、鼓掌和恭賀的美事,但王氏卻公開說這是個「遺憾」,即表達了不太滿意、做得不夠好、感到失望、可以做得更好的意味。這是好無必要的說話。身居會長角色,應知自己的身份並非街上路人甲和阿丙閒聊,而是公開地向傳媒說話,是對參賽泳手士氣有影響的。聽在盡了全力去拼兼已贏得獎牌的泳手耳裏,是毫無體諒的一盤冷水。言語間亦反映了只有贏得金牌,才無遺憾的一種功利心態。

何詩蓓的教練Tom Rushton後來回應傳媒,對王氏言論感到有點失望。加上之前方力申爆出泳總選拔不公的風波,可以說,看見有這樣的領導層,這才令人遺憾。
