導演杜琪峯近日接受BBC訪問,發揮一向敢言個性,深入大談香港創作自由現況,19年前由他創辦、被視為香港電影人搖籃的鮮浪潮國際短片節,今年首度被藝發局停止資助,杜琪峯坦言5、6年前已經預視到,亦考慮過就此結束,但回望鮮浪潮及電影同行過去對年青一代實在有幫助,擔心停辦會傳遞負面訊息:「當我講唔做落去嘅話呢,亦都判咗呢條路死刑,亦都話畀人聽我對年青一代,或者對呢啲嘢唔支持。」他堅決表示即使怎樣都會撐住,讓大家還有一絲想法及希望。

杜琪峯在訪問中指如果藝術發展係變成政治上嘅東西大,任何藝術發展都會出現問題,提到另一頗具歷史的「ifva獨立短片及影像錄像比賽」早前宣布停辦,背後代表什麼東西,他坦言代表政府對人民、社會都沒有信心:「應該cut(撤銷)嗰啲唔cut,放吓煙花咁就當香港好繁榮,喂你呃邊個啊大佬,阿婆都呃唔到啦。嗰班人係咁個喎,因為佢哋唔使用腦㗎嘛。所以我話當呢啲藝術所有嘅嘢,或者某啲社會上嘅嘢完全政治咗嘅時候,係好傷㗎,只有目的咋嘛大家。有冇鮮浪潮唔係最重要嘅事,有冇希望係最重要嘅事。」

電檢條例修訂後,電影業界常指港產片題材受限,杜琪峯直言沒有辦法:「你點頂得到大笨象咁大隻腳嚟吖,你係隻蟻嘅時候。踩唔中你就好彩啫,踩中必死㗎。」他補充從不要求參與鮮浪潮的導演應拍攝什麼題材,而是寄語他們要聰明地創作,若選擇頑強難免有所損失,至於損失是否值得,就由導演自己去決定。

訪問中亦提到關於港產片的定位,杜琪峯稱過往香港電影最好的特色就是什麼都可以拍,尤其在動作電影上,但今時今日情況已經不一樣,他形容現時年輕一代演導的風格變得卡通漫畫化,失去過去用戲劇捉住觀眾的風格,當中特別提到鄭保瑞導演的作品《九龍城寨之圍城》:「你入去戲院抵到爛,嗰一嚿水,但對我嚟講唔好睇㗎,但我讚佢拍得好。」杜琪峯補充有感《九龍城寨之圍城》換成《殺破狼》亦一樣,故事背景不是非城寨不可:「要個城寨嚟做咩啫,搬去北角都得㗎。」他解釋因為鄭保瑞導演在戲劇基礎及電影理念上更傾向技巧性所致。
