Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 1480 chipset appears in Geekbench listing


Samsung is expected to announce a new midrange chipset soon with AMD graphics and we finally have our first unofficial look at the SoC thanks to a Geekbench listing. Exynos 1480 (S5E8845) is touted as a successor to the Exynos 1380 and brings and eight-core structure based on ARMv8 architecture with a 4x performance cores clocked at 2.75GHz and 4x efficiency cores humming at 2.05 Ghz.

The more interesting bit is the presence of the Xclipse 530 GPU which uses AMD RDNA 2 graphics just like the flagship Exynos 2200 from 2022 which powered European Galaxy S22 series phones. Exynos 1480 is rumored to power the upcoming Galaxy A55 as well as other Galaxy A-series phones in 2024.
