Maignan hits back at journalist slamming Milan’s ‘disastrous’ season: ‘Maybe we need you’
Mike Maignan gave a brief but impactful press conference after Milan’s 2-2 home draw against Fiorentina, reacting with visible frustration when a journalist asked what the Rossoneri players needed to revive what was described as a ‘disastrous’ season. ‘Maybe we need someone like you,’ he replied.

The France international was one of Milan’s standout performers on the night, making a series of brilliant saves to deny the Viola, including a crucial stop on Moise Kean in the second half to keep the score level.

The 29-year-old admitted that the team is not going through ‘an easy moment’, but insisted that the challenges of this season are helping the squad grow, making them better equipped to bounce back from any situation.
Maignan: ‘I don’t want to talk about my contract, Milan deserve more’
“I can’t see it that way — we all play together,” Maignan said at a post-match press conference attended by Football Italia when asked how he felt after seeing his teammates concede so easily in the opening minutes.

“It makes me angry to concede goals, but I think the team’s attitude after that was right. The reaction was there, unfortunately only after we went behind.”
“I think it’s not an easy moment, for the club and for everyone. But I believe this will serve as experience for the future — as you saw, this is a team that never gives up, regardless of the result. We need to find the right balance between defensive solidity and attacking effectiveness.”

Amid speculation about new board members and yet another likely managerial change next season, a journalist asked Maignan what the Milan players need in order to start performing consistently in what the reporter described as a ‘disastrous’ season.

“We need you, someone like you — maybe you know how to hit the right spots to fire up the team,” he replied.
The goalkeeper also faced a question about his future from Sky Sport Italia.
“I feel good at Milan,” Maignan said.
“I give everything for the shirt every time I wear it and every single day. Right now, to tell you the truth, I don’t want to talk about my contract: I want to talk about football and about finding the right balance.
“Milan, the team, and everyone involved deserve more. My personal situation isn’t the most important thing at the moment”
