Alan Ritchson mixed franchise news with domestic chaos while teasing about Season 5 of Reacher. However, instead of focusing entirely on the series, the actor turned attention toward an ongoing battle at home involving Bear, a couch, and a rule that apparently won’t survive the next season.
Alan Ritchson confirms Reacher Season 5 renewal in new video involving Bear
According to Prime Video, Alan Ritchson confirmed Reacher Season 5 through an Instagram video featuring his dog, Bear.
Ritchson said, “Yeah, it’s true, okay?” while addressing reports about the renewal before Season 4 premieres. He added, “Reacher Season 5 will have no dogs allowed on the couch!” Furthermore, he joked about Bear covering the couch with “slobber” and “nasty body” hair. The actor also said, “I just want to have a couch with no sheets on it.”
Meanwhile, Amazon MGM Studios announced the renewal before the company’s upfront presentation. Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios, said, “We’re excited to move forward with a fifth season ahead of Season Four’s debut.”
He also stated, “The series’ ability to combine high-octane action with compelling character storytelling continues to resonate with tens of millions of viewers around the world.” Prime Video confirmed that Season 4 currently lacks an official premiere date.
In addition, Season 4 will adapt Lee Child’s 13th Jack Reacher novel, Gone Tomorrow. The story follows Reacher after witnessing a subway suicide in New York. He later uncovers a conspiracy involving Pentagon staffer Susan Mark, corrupt politicians, Al Qaeda terrorists, and multiple murders. Reacher then investigates Susan’s death alongside her brother Jacob while facing dangerous enemies.
Prime Video reported that Season 3 reached 54.6 million viewers globally during its first 19 days. The streamer also stated it became the platform’s most-watched season since Fallout Season 1 during the same timeframe.
Nick Santora continues serving as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Additionally, Ritchson executive produces alongside Lee Child, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, Lisa Kussner, Sam Hill, Amy Pocha, and Seth Cohen.
Ritchson will return for Season 4 with Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Marc Blucas, Kevin Weisman, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kathleen Robertson, and Kevin Corrigan. Maria Sten’s Neagley spinoff recently finished production and includes an appearance from Ritchson.
However, Prime Video has not confirmed which Lee Child novel Season 5 will adapt.
