A new movie featuring several Marvel stars has replaced Michael B. Jordan‘s first movie since his Best Actor Oscar win at the top of the Netflix movie charts. Notably, both movies are Netflix originals.
Remarkably Bright Creatures occupies the top spot on the Netflix movie charts as of May 10, 2026, according to FlixPatrol. Swapped, starring Jordan, holds the second spot. The other entries on the list are the 1980 slasher Mother’s Day, 2015’s Home, Apex, Pretty Woman, The Proposal, My Dearest Assassin, Domestic Disturbance, and Striking Distance.
Notably, the data from FlixPatrol isn’t necessarily complete. However, it gives a broader picture.
As indicated above, Remarkably Bright Creatures features several actors who have appeared in various Marvel projects. This includes Sally Field (The Amazing Spider-Man movies), Lewis Pullman (Thunderbolts*), and Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home). Olivia Newman (Where the Crawdads Sing) wrote and directed the movie from Shelby Van Pelt’s 2022 namesake novel.
As for Remarkably Bright Creatures’ plot, the mystery drama revolves around Field’s Tova Sullivan, a woman working at a Washington state aquarium. She meets Pullman’s Cameron Cassmore, a drifter who finds himself in Tova’s town. As the aquarium picks Cameron as Tova’s future replacement, the two form a bond and share experiences.
Additionally, Remarkably Bright Creatures received positive reviews and currently has an 80% approval rating on the review-aggregating site Rotten Tomatoes after 35 reviews. Angie Han of The Hollywood Reporter wrote, “It’s as cozy as an old woolen blanket, as sweet as a mug of hot chocolate and, ultimately, as moving as the sight of a sky turning purple over an endless horizon.”
Meanwhile, Swapped is an animated movie that tells the story of Jordan’s Ollie, who is a hybrid woodland creature known as Pookoo. He must team up with a Javan (a type of bird) named Ivy (Juno Temple), despite their species being enemies, to save the home they share. Tracy Morgan also stars in the movie.
