The Last of Us Season 3 Adds Sinners Star to HBO Show Cast

One of the stars of Sinners has joined the cast of The Last of Us Season 3.

The Last of Us is an HBO show that premiered in January 2023. Based on the popular video game franchise developed by Naughty Dog, the show was created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. Druckmann, however, has decided to step away from the project alongside writers Halley Gross and Bo Shim, meaning Mazin will be the sole showrunner for Season 3.

The previously announced cast of The Last of Us Season 3 includes Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Gabriel Luna as Tommy Miller, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Spencer Lord as Owen, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Ariela Barer as Mel, Michelle Mao as Yara, Kyriana Kratter as Lev, Jeffrey Wright as Isaac Dixon, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. as Manny, Jason Ritter as Hanley, Patrick Wilson as Jerry, and Clea DuVall.

Who has joined the cast of The Last of Us Season 3?

Now, per Variety, it is known that Li Jun Li will also star in the new show. She will play Miriam, who is “a Seraphite and the mother of Lev and Yara.” Siblings Lev and Yara will cross paths with “Abby at a pivotal moment, as Ellie begins her revenge rampage in Seattle.”

Li is known for playing Grace Show in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, which was released around this time last year. She’ll soon be seen playing Cat Hardy in the forthcoming Spider-Noir show, while her filmography further includes 2015’s Ricki and the Flash, 2022’s Babylon, and 2025’s Alma and the Wolf.

A co-production between HBO and Sony Pictures Television, The Last of Us is produced by PlayStation Productions, Word Games, Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog, while Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells serve as executive producers.

An HBO Max premiere date for The Last of Us Season 3 has not yet been set.
