There is no easy way to process the departure of Andy Robertson. For many Liverpool supporters, he embodies the spirit of the club’s resurgence, relentless, fearless, and fully committed every time he stepped onto the pitch. Seeing him potentially join a domestic rival like Tottenham will sting, even if the circumstances make sense.

From a footballing perspective, the transition feels logical. Milos Kerkez has stepped up impressively, and under Arne Slot the team is clearly moving in a new direction. Yet football is not played purely on logic. Robertson’s connection with the fans, his role in iconic moments, and his leadership in the dressing room cannot be easily replaced.

There is also a quiet pride in how Liverpool are handling this. No drawn out contract saga, no forced exit. Just a mutual understanding that the time is right. If this truly is the final chapter, supporters will want to give Robertson the send off he deserves.
