New Delhi: Meta co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has surpassed TEsla boss and social media platform X owner Elon Musk in the Bloomberg Billionaires index with a net worth of $58.9 billion, compared to Musk’s net worth of $48.4 billion, led by a rally in Meta’s stocks.

Zuckerberg has achieved this feat for the first time since he and Musk were ranked on the index in 2020.

Zuckerberg-Musk fight

The Zuckerberg-Musk rivalry is unique in that it is a product of social media banter. Zuckerberg, who had started practising mixed martial arts and shared updates of his physical transformation, was challenged indirectly by Musk who responded to an X user’s query saying he was up for a cage match with the Meta boss.

Zuckerberg responded by saying: “Send me location.” The two were on the verge of a showdown at an Ultimate Fighting Championship cage match in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.

However, the tension fizzled out and devolved into name calling with Musk calling his business rival “Zukc the cuck” and Zuckerberg taunting him saying it was “time to move on” adding he will “focus on competing with people who take the sport [mixed martial arts] seriously.”
