The 2025 Met Gala is around the corner and three celebrities with Ohio ties are slated to suit up for the biggest night in fashion.
Each year, the gala, which is widely considered the most prestigious fashion event in the world, features a host committee, which is a slate of guests who “will support the evening’s festivities,” according to a press release. Academy Award-winning actress Regina King, whose family is from Cincinnati, and seven-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles Owens, from Columbus, are on the committee this year.
NBA legend and Los Angeles Lakers power forward LeBron James, from Akron, will serve as the event’s honorary chair.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced on Feb. 4 that this year’s dress code will be “Tailored for You.” The theme corresponds with the upcoming exhibit “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” at the museum’s Costume Institute.
