Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge hands-on

At the end of its Unpacked event today, Samsung teased the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge, also known as the Galaxy S25 Slim in the rumor mill until today.

We were at Samsung’s event in San Jose, California, and were fortunate enough to have a close encounter with the Galaxy S25 Edge. So, ladies and gentlemen, feast your eyes upon it! And do note that there’s absolutely no official information about its specs yet.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge hands-on

Let’s start with stating the obvious. It’s very thin. Samsung hasn’t shared any numbers officially, but it’s clear that thinness will be its main selling point.

From the front, it basically looks like a Galaxy S25+, you’d be hard pressed to see any difference. But of course, it’s all in the sides where the Edge shines.

The rear is different too, with an oval camera island incorporating just two shooters and a circular LED flash array.

We assume Samsung going with only two cameras has something to do with keeping the device thin, as Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Air will allegedly only feature one rear camera to be even thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Now let’s talk about that name. Sure, it sounds better to us than Galaxy S25 Slim, but “Edge” with Samsung devices used to be all about screens curving onto the edges. Remember those days? The Galaxy S25 Edge, on the other hand, has a flat screen. That’s the antithesis of what an Edge used to be, so it’s probably a case of “it sounds cool, let’s reuse it” and not much more thought was given to the naming beyond that.

We will of course bring you more information about the Galaxy S25 Edge once it becomes available, so stay tuned. And while you wait, why not go through our hands-on review of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra? It’s fresh out of the oven. We also have a photo shootout comparing the Galaxy S25 Ultra to its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
