A recent tribute on the Hallmark series The Way Home has left many fans wondering who it refers to. Given that the show doesn’t have any characters named Kimberly Hills Leibe, nor does it refer to a behind-the-scenes cast member, viewers are looking for the answers.
Here are the details on the tribute.
Why did The Way Home dedicate Season 4 premiere to Kimberly Hills Leibe?
The Way Home Season 4 began with a heartfelt tribute to a woman named Kimberly Hills Leibe. The tribute card read, “In Loving Memory of Kimberly Hills Leibe,” the tribute card reads. “Fare thee well, dear friend…”
But who was Kimberly Hills Leibe? The showrunners revealed to Decider that Kimberly was one of the show’s fans. “Kim was a fan who quickly became a dear friend and ultimately a true inspiration to our entire Way Home family,” the producers told the outlet. “We all held her in our hearts as we filmed Season 4… and I know we will continue to always.”
The Way Home Season 4 is the concluding chapter of the Hallmark series. It premiered on Sunday, April 19, with one episode titled “Show Me the Way to Go Home.” Similar to the first three installments, the latest season will also have 10 episodes, airing weekly on the Hallmark Channel.
The show is a family drama that blends mystery, romance, and time travel. The story follows three women—Kat, her teenage daughter Alice, and her estranged mother Del—who reunite in their small hometown. As they try to mend their relationship, Alice discovers a mysterious pond that takes her back in time.
“I personally, in my life, learned so much from Kat and in a lot of ways, art imitating life for that, as well,” Chyler Leigh, who plays Kat, told Decider. “I was able to grow in ways that I wasn’t anticipating were going to be that profound.”
Other cast members include Sadie Laflamme-Snow, Andie MacDowell, Alex Hook, David Webster, and Julia Tomasone, among others.
The next episode, titled “Blinded by the Light,” will air on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The episodes will later become available to stream on Hallmark+.
