More details concerning the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max have leaked online, and it’s looking set to pack in an impressive new display.
We’re fresh off the global launch of the Xiaomi 17 series (regular model shown here), but it’s been available in China since late September. This means that the successor is likely only six months away in the East.
In other words, we’re entering Xiaomi 18 rumour season, and trusted tipster Digital Chat Station is here to spill the beans on the flagship Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.
Over on Weibo, the tipster has claimed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will feature a new 6.9-inch LIPO screen that can drop as low as 1 nit of brightness, and which will support the BT.2020 wide gamut colour space.

Apparently, Xiaomi’s new super-sizer will also feature narrower screen bezels than before, something also tipped for the OnePlus 15T, which will be announced in China this month.
The tipster also mentions that the phone will run on a 2nm chip, which is likely a reference to Qualcomm’s forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 6. We heard previously that these new Pro phones wouldn’t be using the very fastest chip in the range, with the pricey Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip reserved for the Xiaomi 18 Ultra model.
As this suggests, these aren’t the first rumours we’ve heard concerning the Xiaomi 18 series. Last month, we heard that the Xiaomi 18 Pro duo would pack a pair of 200Mp cameras.
To date, in flagship smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Oppo Find X9 Pro and indeed the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, only one 200Mp camera has ever been included.
