Some new Wonder Man posters suggest that a major MCU theory is true.
Marvel Television’s Wonder Man arrives on Disney+ later this month. Created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, the show will see Yahya Abdul-Mateen II play Simon Williams, while Ben Kingsley reprises his MCU role as Trevor Slattery.
What do we see in the Wonder Man posters?
The new Wonder Man posters see the MCU beginning to crack down on superhumans. They explicitly state that Hollywood has banned any and all superpowers, meaning that actors are “now required to sign ‘Doorman’ waivers confirming they are not superhuman.

This crackdown on superhuman plays into an MCU rumor involving a familiar DCU plot point and the X-Men. Scooper Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus recently reported that Marvel plans to turn the Department of Damage Control (DODC) into a major antagonist. This storyline is supposed to kick off in Wonder Man, as it has been confirmed that Arian Moayed will be reprising his role as Agent P. Cleary in the show.
“According to sources, the DODC have expanded their search beyond the usual superheroes we have seen in movies and shows and have actually begun taking in individuals who have shown superhuman or meta abilities behind the scenes,” Perez reported. “These individuals are being placed in the Damage Control Supermax Prison, where they can be monitored and even experimented on without any jurisdiction or oversight. According to sources, we are expected to see this facility again in Wonder Man, where their ultimate goal will be to apprehend Simon Williams and lock him up there.”
This is similar to a plot point that’s happening in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU, as Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr. is also trying to imprison anyone who is a superhuman. Perez further reported that, as the MCU advances, the DODC will morph into an anti-mutant organization that could introduce X-Men villain characters like Bolivar Trask and Mr. Sinister.
Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man premieres on January 27, 2026.
