He confirmed that he will return for Season 10 after a fake message tricked fans, and even Bravo boss Andy Cohen, who mistakenly congratulated Carl on his supposed departure via text.

Andy shared the story on Andy Cohen Live, admitting that he was fooled. “I see that someone on Twitter has posted what looked like an announcement from Carl that he was leaving Summer House,” Andy said. “And it was kind of spoken in ‘Carlese.’” He added, “So I immediately texted Carl and I said, ‘Hey, man, congratulations on a great run.’ And he goes, ‘What are you talking about?’”

The fake post — which fan account @Bravoandcocktails reposted — claimed Carl was stepping away after nine years. “After much thought and reflection, I’ve decided not to return to Summer House for the upcoming season…” the message read. But Carl didn’t write it and made sure everyone knew.

Fans believed the rumor because several Season 9 cast members, including Paige DeSorbo, had already announced their departure. Lexi Wood also hinted she’s not coming back after a tense season. So when Carl’s “announcement” surfaced, it felt plausible and convincing.

But Carl quickly shut it down. “I look forward to spending the summer in the Hamptons with my friends,” he told Us Weekly. “I will very much be a part of Season 10!”
