Samsung takes BOE to court once again

Samsung and BOE are two of the largest display manufacturers and have gone to court more than a few times. The last dispute was over a patent, before the US International Trade Commission, and Samsung officially won the dispute last month. Now, the Korean tech giant is once again seeking justice, but this time over allegedly stolen trade secrets.

Samsung and BOE are in court once again

According to Samsung, BOE has consistently engaged in shady practices, including poaching key employees and colluding with companies in the Samsung Display supply chain to steal trade secrets.

BOE has all the information to set up manufacturing equipment for OLED panels in the Chengdu plant. The Chinese manufacturer has also allegedly stolen data, allowing the development of micro-OLED displays.

Samsung is now seeking relief that includes, but is not limited to, the potential loss of operating profit. The case will be heard in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
