Ole Gunnar Solskjaer visited Charlotte FC this week – but the club’s president has poured cold water on the idea that he’ll be its next head coach.

Following his visit to DC United, it was reported that Solskjaer had ‘expressed interest’ in coaching Charlotte.

But the team’s president, Joe LaBue, quickly shot down that notion.

‘To be very clear, Ole visited our facility along with many other MLS facilities last week,’ he wrote on X.

‘It’s common and best practice to host people from across the globe and we’ll continue to do so. We’re proud of what we’ve built. End of story here.’

Charlotte is currently coached by Christian Lattanzio and controls its own destiny to get into the MLS postseason.

The expansion club, which debuted in MLS last year, is currently one point off the final playoff spot but has a game in hand over the two teams (New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire) directly above it.

Charlotte will play Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami away and then home in the last two games.

DC United is eliminated from the postseason despite currently occupying the final playoff spot (the club has no more games remaining).

Wayne Rooney has since departed as the club’s head coach, becoming the manager of Birmingham City instead.

Former Manchester United manager Solskjaer was spotted visiting DC’s training facility on Tuesday, according to The Athletic.

Solskjaer, who also played for Manchester United during his career, has been out of a coaching job since leaving his role at Old Trafford in 2021.

However, he recently started a role as UEFA technical observer.
