Millie Bobby Brown’s Olympics movie that was supposed to come out on Netflix has been canceled.

Brown is best known for playing Eleven/Jane Hopper in Netflix’s Stranger Things show. She also stars as the titular character in the Enola Holmes movies and played Madison Russell in both 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters and 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong. Additionally, Brown has been in Netflix movies Damsel, which was released in 2024, and 2025’s The Electric State.

Why has Millie Bobby Brown’s Olympics Netflix movie been canceled?

Per Deadline, Brown was previously attached to play Olympic gymnast Kerri Strug in a Netflix sports drama movie called Perfect; however, the project is now being scrapped. The reason for the cancellation is because Brown left the project due to “creative differences” with producers.

Further details beyond that are not available at this time.

Originally announced last fall, Perfect would have been directed by Gia Coppola and Ronnie Sandahl.

Deadline’s article states, “The film was set to follow Brown as Strug, A member of the 1996 USA gymnastics team dubbed ‘the Magnificent Seven,’ Strug played a huge role in clinching the gold after performing the vault on a badly injured ankle. The image of her landing it perfectly and then having that ankle give out, only to have her coach carry her off the mat, is considered one of the more memorable moments in Olympic history.”

While Perfect may no longer be happening, Brown will still be seen in some forthcoming Netflix movies. Enola Holmes 3 is currently in post-production and is expected to be released at some point this year, though an exact date has not yet been announced. Additionally, she’ll be seen playing a character named Be a in a rom-com directed by Lee Toland Krieger titled Just Picture It, which also stars Gabriel LaBelle, Idina Menzel, and Margo Martindale.
