Juventus owner John Elkann has held a direct conversation with FIGC President Gabriele Gravina to express his deep dissatisfaction with the officiating in the Derby d’Italia.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Elkann personally contacted the Serie A chief following the controversial red card shown to Pierre Kalulu during the 3-2 defeat against Inter. The owner made it clear that he is disappointed over multiple refereeing errors that have impacted the club.
During the exchange, Elkann urged Gravina to take action and find concrete solutions to the ongoing problems regarding the standard of officiating in the league.
Beyond his complaints to the federation, the report notes that Elkann also reached out to the internal leadership at Juventus. He spoke with CEO Damien Comolli and manager Luciano Spalletti to offer his support.
Despite the result at San Siro, Elkann expressed his happiness with the team’s performance and the character shown by the players. By reaching out to Spalletti and Comolli, the owner signaled his continued confidence in the current project, even as he seeks greater protection and fairness from the league’s governing bodies.
