With the city of Philadelphia locked in to their Phillies’ run to the NLCS, two athletes from another sport were invited to take in their first baseball game ever – and were mic’d up for the whole experience.

Philadelphia Eagles running back D’Andre Swift and safety Terrell Edmunds were placed right behind home plate for the Phillies second game of the National League Championship Series.

The two admitted that this was their first baseball game they ever went to – with Edmunds remarking ‘this joint [Citizens Bank Park] crazy’.

When Kyle Schwarber of the Phillies came up to the plate, Edmunds remarked, ‘He look like he ’bout to do damage though.’

Then, Schwarber promptly hit a home run – leading the safety to remark ‘BOMB! I told you! I told you!’

Swift just laughed at the situation, adding ‘He hit that s**t out the park.’

The pair also showed love for the walk-up song that second baseman Bryson Stott uses: ‘A-O-K’ by Tai Verdes, which was being sung by the entire ballpark.

‘That song probably gonna be in my head all night,’ Edmunds admitted

By the end of the video, the pair admitted they enjoyed their night – with Edmunds saying, ‘I ain’t know baseball games was a vibe like this, though. I gotta come back to one of these ones for real.’

Fans on social media loved the clip – and their reactions – and remarked that this was a perfect occasion to get out and enjoy a ballgame.

‘Just 2 guys having fun at a game! Love it!,’ wrote one Twitter user.

Another said, ‘More people should take in live baseball games, it’s not the same on TV for those that aren’t baseball people. The park is such a great experience, and spring for some good seats.’

‘That’s awesome they got those seats for their first game instead of being in a suite,’ another user posted. ‘Getting a great up close experience.’

‘Love athletes supporting other athletes!,’ a different account said. ‘They realize how hard it is to play at an elite level! Cool to get new fans of our game!! Love this!!’

Swift and Edmunds picked a perfect night to take in their first baseball game, with the home town Phillies beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-0 to go up 2-0 in the series.

Kyle Schwarber socked not one, but two home runs on the night – with Trea Turner adding another later in the game.

In total, the Phillies shelled Arizona pitcher Merrill Kelly for four earned runs on three hits across five-and-two-thirds innings.

The NLCS now shifts back to the desert – with Game 3 taking place in Phoenix on Thursday afternoon.
