Barcelona star Eric García this week made use of the opportunity to aim a jibe at the standard of officiating in Spanish football.

This of course comes fresh off a drama-filled last week for the Blaugrana.

First, en route to a Copa del Rey drubbing at the hands of Atlético Madrid, Hansi Flick’s troops were left feeling hard done by through a trio of high-profile refereeing decisions.

Then, days later, Barca again found themselves up in arms, owing to a late Girona winner being allowed to stand in the Catalan Derby.

The fallout from the fixtures has since been widespread at the Camp Nou, amid mounting claims of an officiating campaign against the reigning La Liga champions.

And as alluded to above, late this week, a member of Barcelona’s backline has added his name to the list of vocal critics.

Speaking during an exchange with the media, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, Eric García revealed his take that:

“Right now, we feel like the referees can disallow every goal we score. If they want to disallow it, they will do it.”
