Australian specialty ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee brand Hunt and Brew is set to debut in the UK with a rollout at Tesco.

The Perth-based business will launch three single origin RTD coffee products – from Brazil, Ethiopia and Colombia – across the supermarket chain’s Tesco Express convenience store estate from 28 July 2024 before being stocked across its wider 3,700-shop UK footprint from September.

The value of the UK’s RTD coffee segment has doubled over the last three years to reach £289m ($373m), according to data cited by Hunt and Brew.

An additional study commissioned by the brand identified an opportunity to deliver an incremental £70m ($90.4m) retail sales value (RSV) to the RTD coffee segment by attracting new customers who are seeking a healthier, no added sugar proposition.

“We’re really excited to introduce Hunt and Brew to UK coffee lovers, especially at a time when we know there’s a coffee culture shift and growing demand for a convenient yet high-quality coffee option. There are many well-founded preconceptions about RTD coffee being full of sugars or sweeteners, and we’re here to shake things up. Our commitment to real coffee and clean ingredients sets us apart, and launching in Tesco is a dream come true for us,” said Doni Savvides, Chief Growth Officer, Hunt and Brew.

Hunt and Brew will make its RTD range in Berkshire, UK, and plans to partner with premium independent cafés and branded coffee chains to further scale its reach in the UK.

Tesco also stocks RTD products from branded coffee chains Costa Coffee and Starbucks, London-based specialty coffee roaster Grind, premium label Jimmy’s Iced Coffee, value focused Arctic Coffee and Swiss brand Swiss Emmi Caffè Latte.
