According to official reports from Deadline, CBS has completed its lineup of returning scripted series for 2026–27, resulting in the cancellation of DMV after the first installment.

Even though DMV sparked interest among viewers, it ultimately did not manage to secure a renewal reporredly due to low viewership, as CBS restructured its comedy lineup for the upcoming season. And the network has now officially shut the door on a second season.

DMV show created by Dana Klein follows a workplace comedy that showcases a quirky group of employees at a bustling Department of Motor Vehicles office in East Hollywood, where daily customer chaos and awkward co-worker interactions disrupt their routines.
