The conference and exhibition marks the founding edition of Tech Week Shanghai, a new international technology event designed to connect global technology providers with China’s rapidly evolving innovation and data ecosystem.

Organized by CloserStill Media and Shanghai International Exhibition (Group), the event builds on the wider Tech Week brand and the success of Tech Week Singapore, one of Asia’s established enterprise technology events. The Shanghai edition is being launched as a curated first step into the China market, ahead of a planned full-scale flagship edition in 2027.

The 2026 founding edition is expected to provide a focused platform for companies and institutions to showcase solutions, exchange market insights and explore partnerships in areas that are becoming central to enterprise digital transformation. These include cloud infrastructure, AI deployment, cybersecurity, data infrastructure and cross-border digital services.

Confirmed exhibitors include China’s three major telecommunications operators, China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom, alongside Shanghai Lingang Economic Development Group, which plays a key role in developing and managing industrial parks and innovation zones in Lingang, one of China’s major economic growth areas. Other confirmed exhibitors include Shanghai Foundation Model Innovation Center, Siemens, Honeywell, Dun & Bradstreet, Shanghai Data Group, BDx Data Center, Haier and TM Global.

The opening programme is expected to include a launch ceremony for Tech Week Shanghai officiated by Chen Wei, the Vice Mayor of Shanghai. There will also be a launch of a Shanghai pilot programme for international cooperation in the data sector, as well as a signing ceremony for digital service cooperation under Shanghai’s overseas integrated service system. Together, these initiatives signal Shanghai’s ambition to become a key hub for trusted data flows and digital services for enterprises operating globally.

A dedicated “Global Digital Cooperation in the AI Era: Rules, Compliance and Dispute Resolution” forum will bring together the Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC), international privacy and data protection experts and corporate counsel to explore how organisations can navigate cross‑border data flows, regulatory fragmentation and AI‑related legal risks in practice.

Beyond governance, Tech Week Shanghai will focus on the practical questions of how to design AI‑ready digital infrastructure and make it deliver business value. Enterprise digital transformation use cases will be a key spotlight, with leaders from automotive, logistics, financial services and manufacturing expected to share how re‑platformed cloud environments, modernised data centres, stronger cybersecurity and tighter data governance can turn AI from pilots into repeatable, ROI‑positive deployments.

The Shanghai launch also comes amid stronger cooperation between Singapore and China in the exhibitions industry. In January 2026, the Singapore Tourism Board and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade signed a memorandum of understanding to promote international exhibitions in key sectors including technology and innovation.

According to the organizers, Tech Week Shanghai is intended to create a platform for international technology providers, Chinese enterprises and regional partners to engage with one another in a more focused setting.  Sessions are designed for audiences seeking updates on technology trends and opportunities for cross‑border collaboration, particularly between China and international markets. Practical outcomes are a key focus. Attendees can expect networking opportunities, access to solution showcases, forums for insight exchange and potential partnership opportunities.

The event will also serve as an early step in Tech Week’s longer-term expansion into China. The 2027 flagship edition is expected to expand the exhibition, conference programme and international participation, building on the market engagement established through this year’s founding edition.

Registration for Tech Week Shanghai is now open. Technology professionals interested in attending the May 6 to 7 conference and exhibition can secure a complimentary pass here: https://www.techweeksh.com/en/
