One of Academy Award-winning star Cillian Murphy‘s highly rated horror movies has just been added to Netflix‘s library, nearly six years after it arrived in theaters. As of today, Paramount Pictures’ survival horror sequel A Quiet Place Part II is now finally available to stream on Netflix.
What do we know about A Quiet Place Part II?
A Quiet Place Part II was written and directed by John Krasinski, who also got to reprise his role as Lee from the first installment. In the film, Murphy played a new character named Emmett, who was Lee’s friend before the alien invasion. He joined returning cast members Emily Blunt as Evelyn, Noah Jupe as Marcus, and Millicent Simmonds as Regan. The sequel also featured Djimon Hounsou, Scoot McNairy, Dean Woodward, Alice Sophie Malyukova, Okieriete Onaodowan, Wayne Duvall, and more. Since its 2022 debut, the film has maintained its Certified Fresh score of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is only 5% lower than the 2018 movie.
“Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path,” reads the official synopsis.
Murphy and Blunt will be returning to the franchise for A Quiet Place Part III, which will arrive in theaters on July 30, 2027. This marks the acclaimed duo’s latest collaboration, following the critical and commercial success of 2023’s Oppenheimer. Joining them are Simmonds and Jupe, along with new cast members Jack O’Connell, Jason Clarke, and Katy O’Brian. The next installment will once again be written and directed by Krasinski.
