What critics are saying about The Bride! in reviews

Several reviewers also commented on the filmâs stylistic risks and narrative structure. Brian Truitt of USA Today wrote, âWhile imperfections exist in the violent, genre-defying romance, they donât dim Gyllenhaalâs clear-eyed passion, grand ideas and big swings spattered on the screen.â Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian gave the film four out of five stars. His review described it as a âbizarreâ spectacle.
Negative reviews also appeared among critics on the site. Tim Robey of the Daily Telegraph wrote, âSo much talent has been wasted here⊠and while provocations aboundâŠthereâs a shallowness at the filmâs core.â Donald Clarke of the Irish Times said the film âis loud, brash and wilfully discordantâ but also shows âa contrasting strain of clunkinessâ in his two out of five review.
