Barcelona linked with surprise move for Arsenal star

La Liga giants Barcelona have this week been tipped to launch a surprise move for a member of the defensive ranks at Premier League leaders Arsenal.

The player in question? Ben White.

Stopper White, it is understood, could be on the move with a view to the 2025/26 campaign.

Amid struggles for fitness across much of the season to date, the Englishman has lost his first-choice status in Arsenal’s backline to Jurrien Timber.

The Emirates brass, in turn, have begun sounding out potential summer landing spots for White.

And one such option to have emerged in north London comes in the form of the aforementioned Barcelona.

Barca are known to be on the lookout for reinforcements at right-back, to provide competition for the under-fire Jules Koundé for next season.

And according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, a ‘market opportunity’ has now presented itself, in the form of Arsenal star White:

‘Barcelona are closely examining this market opportunity, knowing that the British footballer has lost his untouchable status in the Gunners’ system.’

White, it is added, could be available for a sum in the region €30 million.
