As reported by Christian Falk, Bayern Munich have made their stance clear on Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
The Premier League club would ideally like to keep their captain beyond this summer, particularly with Casemiro leaving for free at the end of this season.
However, United could also be tempted to cash in on the 31-year-old, possibly demanding a fee of around £87m.
Should they receive a fee in and around this figure, Man Utd could be tempted to sell, as it’s the most they’re likely to ever get for Fernandes, given his age.
Bayern Munich’s Stance
Bayern themselves are losing a central midfielder in Leon Goretzka this summer when his contract runs out.
With that in mind, the Bavarian clubs have a role to fill. Despite this, Bayern have no interest in signing Fernandes as things stand, particularly for such a large transfer fee, not to mention the Portuguese international’s wages.
Alternatively, Bayern believes they have the personal already at the club who could fill the role of the outgoing Goretzka. One candidate in mind is Leonard Karl, who would have to learn on the job, given he’s played mostly on the wing this summer. However, the Bayern board believes they already possess other options rather than going for Fernandes right now.
