Barcelona star scoops rare Man of the Match award for display vs Leganés

Barcelona star Wojciech Szczęsny saw his latest efforts aptly recognised on Saturday evening.

This comes fresh off another fine showing on the part of the Pole.

Barcelona of course marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to Madrid for a La Liga meeting with Leganés.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a 1-0 result, owing to a first-half own goal on the part of Jorge Sáenz.

And the aforementioned Szczęsny proved himself a crucial presence in holding Leganés at bay.

The evening’s hosts carved out a number of presentable opportunities over the course of the 90 minutes. On each and every occasion in which he was required, though, Barca’s mid-season signing stood tall, conjuring up a number of superb saves.

And as much has since culminated in Szczęsny bagging a deserved Man of the Match award at the Estadio Municipal Butarque.
