Netflix has shared the official Devil May Cry trailer for its highly-anticipated anime adaptation of the hit Capcom video game series created by Hideki Kamiya. The supernatural anime series is scheduled to start streaming on April 3, 2025.
“In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game and from the vision of Adi Shankar, sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck,” reads the official synopsis.

What happens in the Devil May Cry trailer?
The video features the show’s main hero Dante, who is introduced as a demon hunter enlisted to fight against an entire army of demons. The trailer also highlights some of the anime’s action-packed sequences. The voice cast includes Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante, Scout Taylor-Compton as Lady, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Kevin Conroy as VP Baines, and Chris Coppola as Enzo,
Devil May Cry is created and executive produced by showrunner Adi Shankar, who previously worked with Netflix on the Castlevania series and its spin-off Castlevania: Nocturne. The series is produced by Graham Hughes, and Itsuno, with Lee Seung Wook executive producing. It is a production by Studio Mir.
“Rest assured, we are working very hard because we love the franchise and because we want to deliver something great,” Shankar said in a statement (via Tudum). “Our goal wasn’t just to pump out another animated show. My goal is to make one of the best shows on the Netflix platform — period.”
