’90 Day Fiance’ star dies at 66

Reality-TV personality David Murphey, best known for his appearances on the series “90 Day Fiancé,” has died. He was 66.

In an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, Murphey’s family revealed he died on Dec. 11.

“We are deeply saddened to announce that David Murphey, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at home on December 11, 2024 after experiencing health issues over the last several years,” the post read. “He was 66 years old.”

The exact nature of Murphey’s health issues was not disclosed in the obituary announcement. In a March 2023 post, Murphey revealed he’d been “in and out of the hospital” for a three-month period, though doctors had been unable to determine his condition.

The TV personality noted that his liver was not functioning at the time and that he was also experiencing issues with his pancreas and kidneys.

Murphey joined TLC’s reality-dating franchise in 2020 as a cast member on the fourth season of “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days,” which follows a group of transnational couples who’ve initiated their romance online as they meet in person for the first time.

Murphey dated and became engaged to a Ukrainian woman named Lana while on the show, although the couple later broke up. In an April 2022 episode of the “90 Days” spinoff “90 Days Diaries,” Murphey revealed the pair ended things after Lana refused to terminate her membership on various dating websites, per Entertainment Tonight and People magazine.
