With 2025 nearly in the books, a popular food-ranking app just released its list of the most popular spots of the year. Unsurprisingly, New Jersey was well-represented.
Beli, the social restaurant app that allows users to review, rank, track and share restaurants all over the globe, honored three Garden State eateries in its end-of-year roundup.
Two New Jersey cafes made the list of the best new coffee and tea restaurants. Ayala Coffee in Union was ranked at No. 4 while Mile Square Cafe in Hoboken came in at No. 5.
Just down the road in Jersey City, Panaderya Salvaje was named the No. 5 new bakery in the country.

Beli says the ranking is “based on over 50 million ratings in 2025.”
Ayala Coffee, the first Filipino coffee shop in New Jersey, started as a pop-up coffee cart in 2021 and then opened their first brick-and-mortar location in Union later that year. Their handcrafted drinks mix coffee with various Filipino flavors.
At the beginning of 2025, they opened a brand new location down the street, expanding to offer delicious food and baked treats in a dine-in cafe setting.

Mile Square Cafe, from the owner of wildly popular O’Bagel, opened in June featuring a menu of scratch-made sandwiches, homemade breads, breakfast specialties and an assortment of bowls.
The breakfast and lunch spot was also ranked at No. 3 on NJ.com’s Hoboken dining guide.
Panaderya Salvaje is a new bakery that opened in August offering European-style pastries with a Filipino inspired twist. They also started out doing pop-ups, with their first being at Ayala Coffee in March 2023.
Since opening, the bakery has garnered long lines out the door.
Other places featured on both lists include La Maison by Cafe Dear Leon in Baltimore and Cloud Club Matcha in Tokyo.
