Earlier reports that Samsung’s next big Unpacked event is to take place in London on 22 July have recently been corroborated by Seoul Economic Daily. However, it’s the contents of the hardware showcase that we’re really excited about.
We already know that the main event in July will be the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 foldables (more on those later), with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 playing a supporting role. However, the South Korean report confirms that Samsung’s Android XR-powered wearable, the Galaxy Glasses, will also be introduced.
This, too, is far from a revelation – reports in late April revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Glasses would be shipping in late 2026, at which point a summer Unpacked launch seemed likely. It’s nice to have these things spelled out for us though.

In a separate rumour from the same South Korean outlet, it’s claimed that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 could be the first devices to ship with Google’s Gemini Intelligence feature, which was formally announced at yesterday’s The Android Show: I/O 2026 Edition.
Google had already announced that the feature would be coming to both Pixel and Galaxy devices, but with the Google Pixel 11 series not set to launch until August, Samsung could get there first.
That’s in relation to brand-new devices of course – existing Google phones such as the Pixel 10 will likely be the first to get a taste of Gemini Intelligence when Android 17 starts to roll out.
Even so, Gemini Intelligence is expected to arrive as one of the key new features of One UI 9, which will launch with the company’s new foldables. Samsung has just rolled out its first One UI 9 beta, though Gemini Intelligence is nowhere to be seen at this early stage.
