凌晨1時許，一名23歲內地女子在灣仔金紫荊廣場疑因感情問題，致電男友人表示正在岸邊飲酒並感到不快，友人趕至現場時，發現女事主已經墮海，他隨即報警求助。附近途人見狀向女事主拋下救生圈，警方及消防接報，一名警員趕抵跳落水救人，將女事主救上水警小艇，女事主清醒其後送往律敦治醫院。警方列作企圖自殺處理。
