Zendaya embraced wedding traditions and pulled a bridal look from her own collection for the Los Angeles premiere of her upcoming film, “The Drama.”
The actress donned the exact white Vivienne Westwood off-the-shoulder gown she wore to the 2015 Oscars. She wore a short hair style, with natural makeup. She paired the romantic, body-hugging gown with statement earrings.
“I was… brainstorming with Law about being dressed for this film,” she told Variety on Tuesday, March 17, referring to her longtime stylist Law Roach.

“I kind of remembered the saying, ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,’ so this is my something old. I thought I’d bring it back and give it a new life.”
Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are the stars of the new A24 romantic comedy, “The Drama,” which follows an engaged couple in Boston. The film is set to be released in theaters on April 3.
The dress ‘meant so much’ to Zendaya

At the “The Drama” premiere, Zendaya went on to explain the significance of the dress, which she wore before her mainstream success.
In 2015, the former Disney star rocked the Vivienne Westwood gown and styled her hair in locs on the Oscars red carpet. Reporter Giuliana Rancic made controversial remarks about her look on E!’s “Fashion Police,” saying the actress probably “smells like patchouli oil…or weed.”
Zendaya responded to Rancic, calling her comments “outrageously offensive” and uplifted the hairstyle, adding that she wanted to showcase the locs “in a positive light, to remind people of color that our hair is good enough,” as USA TODAY previously reported.
“It meant so much to me, this dress. It was such an important moment for myself, for my community, for my loved ones, and it felt right,” Zendaya shared with Variety about the gown.
The fashionista, known for themed dressing on her press tours, continued: “And it also happens to be a wedding dress. So, that works!”
