Xiaomi 15 gets a very red new colorway to celebrate Chinese New Year

The Xiaomi 15 launched back in October in China in black, white, silver, green, and lilac, and today there’s a new colorway out. It’s red, very much so in fact, as you can see from the images below.

This colorway is meant to celebrate the Chinese New Year, which takes place on January 29. It’s China’s biggest festival and, thus, quite a big deal.

The red model comes with a black frame, which looks great since the rectangular-ish camera island is also black-ish. As you’d expect, the specs have stayed the same – this is just a new color.

To refresh your memory, the Xiaomi 15 comes with a 6.36-inch 1200×2670 LTPO OLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate and 3,200-nit peak brightness, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset at the helm, 12/16GB of RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB of storage, a triple rear camera system (50 MP main with OIS, 50 MP ultrawide, 50 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom), a 32 MP selfie snapper, and a 5,400 mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.

While the Xiaomi 15 isn’t yet available outside of China, if history repeats itself then expect it to be unveiled for global markets alongside the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which is due to be announced in the next few weeks.
