Who has made Troy’s Premier League team of the week?

Troy's TOTW: Ramsdale, Szobozslai, Saliba, Mavropanos, Bijol; Milner, Willock, Fernandes; Ngumoha, Dowman, Gordon

[BBC Sport]

After every round of Premier League matches this season, BBC football pundit Troy Deeney will give you his team and manager of the week.

Here are this week’s choices. Do you agree? Give us your thoughts using the comments form at the bottom of this page.

[BBC]

Aaron Ramsdale (Newcastle): He was a huge part of why they won against Chelsea, not just for his saves and collecting balls into the box, but for his ability to play out from the back as well.

[BBC]

Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool): You have to say that free-kick was special, even though it wasn’t the result Liverpool would have wanted in the end. He plays at right-back like he has played there his whole life. Very comfortable, offered a lot going forward, and was clearly the best player on the pitch.

William Saliba (Arsenal): A Rolls Royce. A calming influence. He is always in the right position and taking care of business.

Konstantinos Mavropanos (West Ham): He was a beast against Manchester City. He put his face in front of the ball when Haaland blasted it at him from five yards. In the age where everyone turns their back, he is an old-school centre-back. And he scored with his team’s only shot of the game.

Jaka Bijol (Leeds): Leeds went down to 10 men and he headed every ball and organised everything. He received a yellow card and still managed to be aggressive while making sure not to be sent off.

[BBC]

Joe Willock (Newcastle): I felt like this was a coming of age game for him. He was up against £200m worth of talent in Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo and he looked like the £100m pound player. Lots of energy and running, and he was really unselfish with the assist for Gordon.

James Milner (Brighton): A solid performance. He showed his experience and understanding of what the game needed – 40 years old and still lasting 90 minutes – just a level above.

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United): Sixteen assists this season, beating David Beckham’s record in a single Premier League campaign for the club. A wonderful performance from him. He is ‘Mr Manchester United’.

[BBC]

Anthony Gordon (Newcastle): He keeps scoring. In a week where centre forwards weren’t great, he delivered with pace and power. Even if Fofana was chasing on a speedboat he wouldn’t have been able to catch him.

Rio Ngumoha (Liverpool): He was direct, kept picking up the ball and running at people and making sure to be a threat. He also had the game intelligence to know when to play the ball. The game swung in Tottenham’s favour when he came off.

Max Dowman (Arsenal): I don’t want to overhype him and put too much pressure on him, but he may have won Arsenal the league. He was excellent, very assertive, and played forward with freedom. Pickford should do better with the cross into the box but it was a great ball into a great area. Then he takes it past two players on the counter-attack and is running to goal, closing in on his first Premier League goal, first goal for Arsenal and at the Emirates too, and he was as composed as they come.

Manager banner

[BBC]

Eddie Howe (Newcastle): After a big game midweek against Barcelona, he could have easily taken his eye off the Premier League to make sure they were ready for the second leg away from home. Instead Newcastle put on a great performance. Howe still got to rotate and keep everyone fresh, and a win against a very good Chelsea team keeps their European hopes alive.
